With a new year comes new challenges for marketers who must continue to evolve themselves and their businesses, while developing their 2021 marketing strategy.
Here are a few of the hottest 2021 marketing strategy trends that will help you stay ahead of the curve.
Incorporate Social Media Listening into Your 2021 Marketing Strategy
Social media is in a constant state of change. Social media marketers want to stay on top of those changes.
First off, by 2021, most businesses will start using social media as a conversation tool. As customers turn to social media for advice on products and services, businesses that answer those queries will receive plenty of engagement.
Businesses that check their social media mentions, branding, and products will positively engage with their audience. This social media marketing tactic will also keep their finger on the pulse of their respective industries.
Is no one mentioning your organization on social media?
It is time to start the discussion. Develop a social media strategy to focus on creating genuine connections.
Just a few ideas include:
Asking questions
Developing giveaways
Holding contests
Entertaining your audience
Imagination is the only limitation to incorporating social media listening into your 2021 marketing strategy.
Prepare for Voice Search Queries When Building Your 2021 Marketing Strategy
Are you familiar with the Amazon Echo, Google Home, and Apple HomePod?
With the rise in smart speakers, households are turning to voice search technology. In essence, people use voice search queries for one purpose: to make their lives easier.
As a matter of fact, by 2022, over half of all U.S. households will have a smart speaker.
How does this affect search engine optimization (SEO)?
Businesses that tailor their keyword phrases to potential voice search queries are more likely to be the go-to search solution. This means tailoring search keyword phrases to the way people will verbally say and pronounce them.
For the search engine optimizers who accomplish this, they will reap the rewards from longer, more conversational phrases.
Develop Long-form Content Pages for Your Website
‘Pillar pages’ have been an SEO strategy for a while. However, Google recently placed more of an emphasis on these pages. This means that the Google algorithm is more like to rank long-form content higher on a search engine results page (SERP), also known as a search engine index.
Long product pages should highlight the top features and benefits. About pages should showcase your organization’s team, history, and location. Services pages should explicitly detail how your organization operates its key offerings.
By incorporating lengthier content, any company can effectively inform their target audience while simultaneously ranking towards the top of a search engine index.
Emails Continue to Get More Personalized Across 2021 Marketing Strategies
The late 2010s have seen a rise in personalized emails. These entail everything from including a contact’s first name all the way to building a full-scale email automation that breaks down each individual choice of the recipient.
Tailoring email campaigns to individual recipients is easier than ever before, and there are plenty of benefits. For example, an email with a personalized subject line is 26% more likely to be opened.
New PPC Platforms Worth Considering for Your 2021 Marketing Strategy
The internet changes quickly. Each year there are new platforms to explore. These present novel digital advertising opportunities.
Quora, Nextdoor, Amazon, and LinkedIn each have their own audience. Thus, these platforms lead businesses to different subsets of people, while concurrently allowing them to incorporate personalized branding.
Try Podcasts as Your Next Form of Content
Podcasts are sliding into every content marketer’s arsenal. They are poised to become an even larger part of 2021 corporate content strategies.
Podcasts are relatively simple to create. But they are even easier to share and consume. This makes podcasting a reliable avenue for commercial content. Plus, serialized podcast episodes retain audience members, keeping them coming back for more.
