Effective Email Marketing

As a business, rolling out an effective email marketing strategy can go a long way in gaining your audience’s attention. With the growth of digital marketing, new methods of email marketing are being utilized to provide better results for businesses.

If your business has begun to fall behind with its email marketing campaigns, it is time to start using these new methods.

Building Your Email List

The first step to making your email list more effective is knowing how you build your list. Businesses can attract subscribers through social media content and digital advertising, but the most straightforward route to gaining subscribers is through a website popup.

Because it’s best to build your list with those actually interested in your product or service, collecting emails from website visitors is a viable option. Subscribers who originate from a website form are more likely to show conversions because these people are actually interested in what you have to offer. Organic lists have both a better deliverability rate and open rate meaning that engagement from your organic subscribers can be as much as 2-3x that of a paid list.

This can be even more effective when offering your visitors a coupon or other enticing offer in exchange for signing up. For example, if you sell products through an eCommerce store, then you could offer a 10% coupon for their first order. As another example, if you’re selling a course, offering an educational PDF or eBook could be the value add they’re looking for.

Segment Your Lists

Sending out an email campaign only for it to be buried will hurt your overall open and click rates. To avoid this, your email marketing needs to be tailored to certain audiences, a practice known as market segmentation. Segmentation enables you to group individuals by a shared value This could be demographic information, location data, job title, or another shared interest.

Organizations often make the mistake of just sending out mass email campaigns without truly analyzing the target audience. Through market segmentation, you’re more likely to increase your email marketing engagement.

Use Analytics

There are many different types of analytical tools that can be used to measure engagement and ROI on your email marketing. Tools, such as Google Analytics, Pabbly, Send In Blue can be invaluable in strengthening your email marketing efforts.

To truly understand the success (or failure) of your email marketing campaign, reviewing data analytics is an invaluable step in the digital marketing process as it can help you to achieve further results as time goes on.

While using these tools is important, you must also be conscious of valuing customers as people, instead of just a statistic. Keep your emails personable and catchy to appeal to the human elements of your potential customers. and others. Don’t be afraid to try different styles of email marketing and use tools to see how they perform.

Focus your analytics approach on subject lines, segmentation, campaign send time (day of the week and time of the day), and content used in the campaign. These factors play a much more significant role than you might imagine. Fortunately, most email service providers come equipped with the analytics and A/B testing capabilities to help you grow!

Strategic Automations

Lastly, do not be afraid of automating your email marketing. Automation can save you time, while yielding comparable (or better) results.

When automating, you just have to make sure to appeal to the human emotion of people and have a planned strategy. Simple automations include welcome campaigns for new subscribers, new product information timed on a release date, or abandoned cart sequences.

Based on how your list interacts with these email campaigns, you can send them a different set of campaigns at a later point. Think of it like a “choose your own adventure” book.

In the face of rising digital marketing tactics, your email marketing success doesn’t have to die out. Find ways to keep it fresh by testing out strategies and reviewing their analytics. There are a variety of strategies to try, so if one doesn’t work, try something new.
